Lieutenant-General Hon. George Ramsay (1652 - 5 September 1705) was Colonel of the Scots Regiment of Footguards, at that time a regiment on the establishment of the English Army. ==Military career== Born the son of George Ramsay, 2nd Earl of Dalhousie, Ramsay fought at the Battle of Killiecrankie in July 1689 during the Jacobite rising and, having become Colonel of the Scots Regiment of Footguards in September 1691,〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Scots Guards Colonels )〕 he took part in the Battle of Steenkerque in August 1692 during the Nine Years' War.〔Mosley, Charles, editor.
